Add a check for me (Update 2)

So, I've managed to get a few more in progress and completed one this past week. Here's what's new:

54 Use a film camera
I marked this as in progress as I have been in contact with my mom in regards to borrowing a film SLR camera that they have. I will hopefully be getting it from her this upcoming weekend. Should be fun and if I get my hands on a film scanner then you may be able to see some of the results on my webpage. :)

66 Volunteer for the Fringe Festival
So, the festival is not until August but I completed the application to volunteer the other night and recently got a reply regarding orientation (the only problem is that they had me orienting for a different role than I wanted so I'm hoping to get that cleared up).

69 Call my grandparents once per month
Okay, this is a little challenging for timing as I work nights and sleep during the day but I'm trying. I spoke with my maternal grandmother the other day and will hopefully get a chance to visit all my grandparents when I go see my parents on the weekend. If not, I will try to at least call.

70 Leave 50 random quotes in random places
I have a stack of post it notes and a list of quotes. Now it's a matter of getting them written out and posted randomly. I think for this one I may also take photos of where they are posted for a record, but we'll see how it works out.

83 Randomly buy someone else's meal in a restaurant
This is now complete. My partner and I went for breakfast the other day after I got off of work and by complete fluke a co-worker of mine (also just off work) came to the same restaurant witha friend before flying out. When my partner and I left I told the cashier that I also wanted to pay for this couple's meal. So, we'll see if my co-worker says anything next time I see her. :)

And the rest that are in progress are moving along so far so good.

That's all for now.

PS

By posting that I was doing this on Facebook I have put the idea in my coworker's head and she may be making herself a list.

Update number 1

Okay, so I'm 6/7 days in depending on what you consider the start of the day (it's currently 3:30am here so...it is and isn't yet March 9th). Anyway....I have made some progress.

11 - Get a full body massage
Well this may not end up being full body but I was discussing this list with a friend of mine and as a thank you for helping him out with some stuff he bought me a gift card for a massage. Now it's just matter of figuring out when I'm able to go...

21 - Keep a plant alive for at least a month
I bought a couple of plants a day or two before I created this list and so far so good. They are still alive and so far doing well. I also seem to be managing to bring a rather sad looking plant that I've had for a while back to life. :) It's got new growth which is definitely promising.

29 - Grow my hair
Currently, my hair is about 2 inches long, if that. And having made the decision to grow it out again this means no hair cuts (except trimming the back because I'm not going for a mullet), weird lengths/stages to get through, and patience. I actually had a girl I work with ask me last week if I was ever going to have long hair and I told her I was in process of growing it out. So, I should have some support along the way with this. If nothing else I know my mother will approve. ;)

37 - Learn how to do a hill start in a standard
Success! This one is now done. I parked my car successfully in my parkade the other day (I've only been driving this car for about a month and that's also how long I've been driving standard) which results in a hill start to get it out (my space slopes backwards). I'll admit I used the e-brake to prevent my car from rolling backwards but hey, I'm okay with that because I successfully got my car out of the space and out of the garage.

48 - Add a new photo to my webpage weekly
I added two new photos to my webpage on March 2 (the day I began this) and have plans to add a new photo tomorrow. If you are interested in checking it out you can at http://fotosbyforbsie.ca/ This continues to be a work in progress.

58 - Tell someone I love them every day
So far so good. And it's been at least one person a day given that my partner hears this from me daily and if I talk to family they hear it too. Which is a lovely lead into my next goal...

68 - Call my mother once a week
I spoke with my mother on the phone last week and have since also been in touch with her via email. I will also hopefully get a chance to call her tomorrow before I head to work.

86 - Connect with friends in different cities at least once per month
Well this just worked out for me this past week as I ended up chatting with three friends in three different cities. Now it's just a matter of keeping this up.

101 - Smile every day
I'll be honest, living with two cats, having the partner and friends that I do, this isn't much of a challenge but I figured it was a good thing to put in anyway, because if nothing else, when I'm having a not so good day I remind myself that I need to smile daily, so I smile and usually feel a little better.

So, overall, for the first week, not doing too shabby. Let's see how this goes from here.

Until next time:

I am thankful for laughter,
except when milk comes
out of my nose.

Two items done

Well since I put creating a blog to track my progress on my list that is number 25 done, provided I keep it updated that is. And by posting on Facebook what I am doing I have shared this with my partner, family, and friends (number 26), though will also talk with my partner about this when he gets home from work since a few of my items will affect him. Figure it's a good plan to give him a heads up.

I have also marked a number of items as in progress because they are things I am aiming to do on a daily basis so I'd better start now.

Day 1

Okay, so I learned about this project because my sister is doing it. I thought it sounded like a good idea so signed myself up.

For info on the project go to http://dayzeroproject.com/ but the basic idea is to create a list of 101 things to accomplish in 1001 days.

My list can be viewed at http://dayzeroproject.com/user/forbsie

This blog will be used to track my progress and keep anyone interested updated.

Here goes.
